IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency
2–5 May 2022 // Shanghai, China

The 1st Annual IEEE Communications Society Demonstration Conference

News and Announcements

Deadline Extension

Deadline for Papers/Posters extended to Monday December 20, 5.00pm (any time zone)

Conference Type

Due to ongoing cross-border travel restrictions globally, the Organizing Committee has evaluated the current circumstances and there is a high chance that ICBC'22 will be again a virtual conference. We still plan for an in-person exhibition at Shanghai to be affiliated with ICBC'22 for those who can travel. Further, even if there is an in-person component of the ICBC'22 Conference, the Organizing Committee will provide all virtual amenities to authors to present their work, so they don't have to travel for it.

Tutorials and Demos submission portal is now open!

Crosschain Workshop 2022 will be part of the ICBC'22 Conference. Submissions are now open.

ICBC 2022 Paper Submission is Open

The JEMS conference submission system is open and ready to receive submission to the full paper, short paper, poster, and SoK paper tracks of ICBC 2022.

Please note ICBC 2022 will be accepting Systemization of Knowledge (SoK) papers for the first time. Rather than positing novel research contributions, a SoK paper provides insight by evaluating, systematizing, and contextualizing existing knowledge, usually by means of a comprehensive survey and/or systematic evaluation of the state of the art. In doing so it might challenge (or confirm), with evidence, long-held beliefs or conventional wisdom. If accepted, SoK papers will be allocated the same presentation slot length in the program as a full paper. Please note that conventional research papers should be submitted to the Full Paper track and may be rejected without review if submitted to the SoK Paper track.

ICBC 2022 is seeking submissions of technical papers (both full and short), posters and tutorial proposals in the following areas related to Blockchains and Cryptocurrencies

Authors are invited to submit original papers written in English that have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Technical papers must be formatted using the IEEE 2-column format and not exceeding 8 pages for full papers, 4 pages for short papers, 2 pages for poster papers or 16 pages for systemisation of knowledge (SoK) papers (all excluding references). The paper submission templates are available on IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed. The review process will be single blind; that is, authors should indicate their names and affiliations on their submitted manuscripts. And accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore. All papers should be submitted through the JEMS conference submission system.

ICBC 2022 website is live!

It will feature keynotes, tutorials, peer-reviewed technical paper presentations, posters, demos, a hackathon, and exhibitions from world-leading service providers, solution vendors, research institutes, open-source projects, and academia. A select number of papers based on the peer review process will be invited to submit an extended version for publication in a Special Issue of the IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management. ICBC 2022 is the primary forum for the technical exchange of the latest research and innovation, regulation, policies, standards, and applications in the exciting and emerging area of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
